Tell them about Jesus

First, and foremost…I have to explain my lapse of blogging. I know that my following has been wondering about my absence. By the way, I have confirmed that my following consists of the other bloggers on this site, and Chuck’s pet hamster…who refuses to make comments.

Okay…what does that have to do with telling them about Jesus? Nothing. BUT…I have really been in a valley as of late…that means that I really haven’t wanted to do much for the Kingdom. We have to admit that sometimes, because we have to see how God deals with it. Well, here it is…when you are feeling sorry for yourself, He gives you a glimpse of Himself. He puts someone in your path to draw your attention back to Him. Are you paying attention to those that God has put around you?

Well God sent this guy my way named Bruce, who is opening up a “Fit for Christ” exercise/health facility in Burke, Virginia (9316 Old Keene Mill Road). He didn’t want to open it up until he had some men come and pray for God to bless his business. Okay…Dan, the guy who spent most of his life trying to follow God’s path when it was convenient, or when he could…he is the guy you want to pray for your business? I asked him why he was doing this whole business, and he told me that his 90 year old mother, when she was on her death bed, looked at Bruce and told him, “tell them about Jesus…tell them all about Jesus”, and she said that three times. What a great way to follow God’s path…have it described to you from your Christian mother.

So I was reading my bible today, and I opened up to James 1. Now that is a book of action. And listen to James 1:2-3 – Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” and later in James 1:22 – But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Which reminds me of a friend of mine who told me about his vision of The 25th Project(this is from his facebook page). “We are putting together 25 meals for 25 homeless people in Washington DC for Christmas on Christmas Day…will you help in either time or donate .25 cents toward this opportunity to serve?”  (the25thproject@gmail.com)

Now he (Jay) is doing this when he is walking through a valley himself…now that is God putting men in your path to remind ME that it isn’t all about ME…it is about HIM!!!  Oh yeah…you better believe that I am going to find Jay today to make a donation…he is doing great stuff!

So my take away? Okay Dan…get off of your butt and get to work. And that work is “tell them about Jesus…tell them all about Jesus.” He is the reason for this season…and He is the reason for the hope in our hearts. Thanks for reading (especially Chuck’s hamster). In Christ, Dan

About Dan

My name is Dan. I grew up on the lovely Eastern Shore of Maryland...go Colonels! God really got a hold of me a few years back and asked me when I was going to "get in the game" and start living my life for Him. I have been burdened with the fact that many...many men in our world are wasting their lives while God wants them in the game. This is one of the ways that I am giving them that challenge...our nation, and our world depends on it. So thanks for your support...and your prayers. Dan
