Wow…I have just jumped head first into an impossible project…and I am loving it! Of course, I am scared to death. Because in and of myself…there is NO WAY that this will ever happen. The project is the Village of Emmaus. I wrote about one of the most amazing people that I have ever met…and her name is Betty. She has been ministering to and caring for people for FORTY TWO years…well not it is time for her to be ministered to.
That is where I come in….I have asked her for the opportunity to help restore the Village of Emmaus. Check out there website and be blessed: http://www.villageofemmaus.org/. Betty and Emmaus is all about ministering to our Veterans who are hurting badly after their service to our country….and we just want to make a place where God can meet them, and they can restore their lives. The goal of that is so that they can restore others.
To do that with excellence, which is what God asks of us…it will take a lot of folks working to restore this place to the condition that God intended for it. And it will take lots of money and supplies. So basically, the task is impossible for humans…but easy for God. Isn’t that great? I am blessed to be part of something that for humans will be an absolute failure….now that is exciting. Because that means that the only way this will work is to lean totally on God:
Proverbs 3: 5-6 – 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
And Hang in there….
Galatians 6:9 – 9Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if wedo not grow weary.
Be encouraged…there are many ways that we can walk with God and allow Him to show His power. Just get in the game! Oh yeah…please pray for me. Don’t say you will and not do it….say you will and get on your face asking God to provide the resources, manpower, tools, and talents and money to Bless Betty and all of the Vets at Emmaus.
Grace and Peace, Dan
