Day 74
We are still in Ezekiel for inspiration today. Yesterday, God let Ezekiel look at the hopelessness of the situation…the dry bones. And then Ezekiel told God that the answer to whether these bones can rise up is completely up to Him. We continue in Ezekiel 37:
Ezekiel 37:4-6 – Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’ 5 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. 6 I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the LORD.’”
It is really cool how God talks to us. He doesn’t just say, shazaam…and poof, and here is your answer. He wants us to do it. You gotta be kidding me God…I can’t do that? I can barely make it through the day.
Well that is because you are looking things through your lens, not God’s. The reason that you are looking that way is that you haven’t asked God to take you in the Spirit to view things. To be honest…if you haven’t accepted Jesus and His atoning work on the cross…don’t bother asking for the Spirit, because you won’t get it. But if you want God to reveal truth to you…ask and you will receive.
So anyway, God tells Ezekiel…prophesy over the bones. That is kind of strange. God…why don’t you do it? Well the answer is that God wants us to use His power on earth…for HIS WILL! You see, if we are crying out to God…not because we are in trouble, but because we want to do His will on earth…then He will answer. If we only cry to Him when we are in trouble…what good is that.
Can you imagine if you had a friend who only called you when he/she needed something. You probably do that those “friends.” And to be honest, you probably screen their calls.
BUT…if you have a friend that just wants to be your friend in the good days and bad days…you will probably want to talk with them immediately. Well same thing with God. He wants your love “all” of the time…..not just when you are in “trouble.”
You do that, and He will start to let you prophesy over the dry bones in your life. The hopeless situations, and the hopeless people in your life…and He will raise you up just like the bones around Ezekiel.
So be encouraged…it is as easy as spending time with God. Asking…seeking…knocking. But for His will…not yours! By the way, when you start doing that more and more…you will want even more of Him!
