My mom used to knit all of the time…and I was always intrigued by how she could take yarn and make something out of it. She was so good at it, that most of the time she didn’t even look…
So let’s talk about the way that God knits things together. Ezekiel is still in the “Spirit” and he prophecied over the bones…and her is what happens.
Ezekiel 37:7-8 – 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.
So God just starts to knit things back together….just like the Village of Emmaus. He is going to put sinew on the place to hold it together. You ever think about how we just happen to have this stuff called sinew (tendons) that hold our bones together no matter how much we contort them? Our bodies are so complex that they scream out “GOD MADE ME!” Yet another reason why the theory of evolution is so absolutely ridiculous….but our “intelligent people” defend it so passionately….but I digress.
You see if you don’t have the sinew…then flesh and life won’t do anything for you. You will fall apart. You need something that is so intricately woven in to your being that no matter how life contorts you…you stay in tact. That is the work of the Holy Spirit! And that is how you don’t fall apart when the storms of life hit you full on!
So be encouraged….if you will accept Christ, and ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit…you will be tough, durable, and ready for God’s work that He prepared for you to do. Consider how the apostle Paul describes it for us:
Ephesians 2:10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
We are almost there…but that is tomorrow’s blog…thanks for reading.
Grace and Peace, Dan
