Day 152
Be encouraged….I will make your life a lot easier for you. If you will quit asking God to show you what you want Him to do, you won’t have to stress over whether you will actually do it. How freeing is that? Wait Dan…that sounds a little anti-biblical doesn’t it? Nope….because God knows that you can’t handle it ALL….He can only give you little bits of things.
Instead of asking God to show you “the way”…or His will for you. Change it up. Say this….”God, I am available.” Oh yeah…and then hang on my friend, because you are in for the ride of your life. Because THEN…you don’t get the glory…God does.
Think about it this way…He spoke to Adam a little…He spoke to Abraham a little…He spoke to Moses a little…etc…etc. Put yourself in Moses shoes (sandals actually) for a while and imagine this conversation. Oh Lord, Most High….God of our Fathers, show me Your path for me. And God would respond with something like, “okay Moses. Here you go. Your are going to kill somebody in anger because YOU think that you have what it takes to stand up and lead. Then you will get kicked out of Egypt from all of the plush living that you have enjoyed, and live in the desert and tend sheep. You will be the lowest of the low…and in your eyes an embarrassment to yourself and your family…and you will hang out with stinking sheep for FORTY YEARS. And then I will get your attention via a burning bush. You will go back to Egypt and do a lot of miracles…but oh yeah, a lot of people will die because of what you do and say. Then you will lead 2 million people to the desert with no daily guarantee of anything except Me telling you that I AM. Then they will all basically hate you, and not listen to you for FORTY YEARS. Then one day you will get really mad and strike The Rock, and then you won’t even get to go in the great place that I told you about…but everyone else will.”
“What do you think Moses…are you in?” “Hmm….God, can I rephrase my question?”
Friends…God’s path is totally impossible for us. Because we are weak. BUT….God’s path is easy for God because He knows what we need to get there. Instead of asking God to “show you”…just tell Him that you are available. Do it the way that Isaiah did…
Isaiah 6:8 - Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Be encouraged…if you do that… He will be with your wherever you go. Because He is ALWAYS searching to and fro for someone to stand in the gap and build up the wall. Somebody to make a stand for Him.
