Day 157
Okay God…where are You? You told me to do this…and I did, and where are You? You told me this is what you wanted me to do….well?
I think one of the major problems in life is that God seems to continually forget how good my plan is…that is until He actually allows me to have my way, and I find out the distrastous consequences to “my plan.” Because my plan involves my timing and well…it doesn’t seem to work out.
Because I need it NOW…not later, because if I don’t have it NOW…then my plan will fall apart. And I will do whatever I can to make it happen the way that I think that it should…and that stresses me out to the point where I want to ram my head through a wall instead of just beating my head against it.
And then God says, “are you tired yet?” and I say…..yes. Then He says something like good…now listen to me. By the way the best way to listen to God is to read the words that He prepared and preserved for us. And you will probably say, come on Dan you don’t believe that do you? And I will say…”most of the time I do”, but that is because I am too busy beating my head against the wall to listen. Here is what God says about His word…
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NIV)
Get that….thoroughly equipped for every good work….instead of my “partially” equipped to run around like a mad man. And then there is….Habakkuk who says,
Habakkuk 2:3 - For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
Be encouraged…God won’t yell at your impatience, and isn’t that great? BUT….He WILL tell you to wait, if you will let Him. And you do that by asking, praying, and reading…and seeking Him. And REALLY be encouraged…it is worth it. Read Habakku, 2:3 again, write down what God has placed on your heart, and praise Him when it happens.
Remember, He wants to use His blessings to you as an example for everyone else….so they can see how God takes care of all of those who trust Him.
Grace and Peace, Dan

Oh yeah! This is always a tough one. Hearing the voice of God is usually a really quiet voice. “Be still and know that I am God.”
Blessings on you, bro!
He has a plan.
He knows our plan.
We live his plan.
As Tom Petty sang, “The waiting is the hardest part.” However, as the song says, “Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord!” (Isaiah 40:28-31). Thanks for the reminder Dan!
