No, you didn’t accidentally end up on the Brazilian site…this is still America. But the word PÂLÂ will blow your mind. Now if it didn’t come across correctly on your computer…the little hat signs over the ‘a’ is just to get the pronunciation right…and yes, I am proud of myself.
BUT….that word will floor you. It is found throughout the bible, and here is the definition that I came up with, “it is something that God does so there is no doubt that only God did it!” My favorite use of the word is in Job 5:7-9…stand by…
Job 5:7-9 – 7 For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward. 8 “But as for me, I would seek God, And I would place my cause before God; 9 Who does great and unsearchable things,Wonders without number. (NASB)
Now you might be saying…neat verse Dan. NO…NO…NO….this is THE verse. Man was born for trouble…YOU were born for trouble…as surely as when you sit by a campfire…the sparks will go up. So understand that trouble will come…daily. So what do you do? SEEK GOD….place your PETITION BEFORE GOD. Why? Because HE IS THE MAN….there is no one on this earth that can do ANYTHING that God can do….because He is PÂLÂ. We could consider the word PÂLÂ for the rest of our lives and not even come close to comprehending it.
I was just thinking, as I was putting some honey on my bread…which is PÂLÂ by the way. A bee goes to a flower to get some nectar that is only available for a few days, and at the same time pollinates flowers…then they somehow form these hexagonal compartments to put honey and larvae in….blah…blah….that is PÂLÂ!!! And it tastes great on toast!
I am infuriated that I sat in church my whole life and never heard the word PÂLÂ!!! I would long for a pastor to stand up, and talk about PÂLÂ for a few minutes and sit down and shut up and let the Holy Spirit fill everyone with wonder…for the rest of their lives. Check this out in Genesis…
Genesis 1:16 – God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.
Can you imagine that….when God was telling Moses what to write in Genesis….I can just here it. “Oh yeah Moses, tell them that I made the stars also…”. WHAT??? Stand by…how vast is space? For you to send a text message to your friend who lives on the nearest star in the nearest galaxy to us…it would take about 45 MILLION YEARS for you to get a response. “He made the stars also…” As an afterthought…God wanted us to not miss that He did that too!
AND we miss it all because we enjoy sitting in the ash heap of our lives…pondering our trouble…instead of pondering PÂLÂ!
So be encouraged….HE IS PÂLÂ! And your troubles are PÂLÂ! And the way that He steers your life is PÂLÂ! WONDERS WITHOUT NUMBER!
So the next time you are so stressed out about your “situation” and how tough your life is…remember that the Author of PÂLÂ says this about what He is doing in your life.
Psalm 118:23 – This is the LORD’S doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.
You guessed it, the word for marvelous is PÂLÂ. BUT IT GETS BETTER. Psalm 118:23 is written about the fact that He is sending His Son to be born of a virgin, scorned and rejected by man, and the Stone that the builders rejected…who is our Chief Cornerstone for our lives. And that is none other than our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST! NOW THAT IS PÂLÂ!! And it is marvelous in our eyes…and it was marvelous in God’s eyes to do that for “me”. That is PÂLÂ.
Grace and Peace, Dan
p.s. Use the word PÂLÂ…and then tell people what it means. That too is marvelous in God’s eyes.
