Ezekiel 2:7 – But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not, for they are rebellious. (NASB)
I don’t think that it can be clearer than that…
But I was amazed the other day when a friend of mine, who holds a position of leadership in a large church told me that he didn’t think the church has the role of being the moral compass of the government.
One question….if not the church…then who?
Let’s see where we are…”the invocation at the Inaugural Ceremony” omitted the words, “under God”. The president said in his speech that gay rights was one of his top agenda items. Last Sunday was Sanctity of Life Sunday, and while most pastors were giving sermons about whatever….during that 15-45 minute sermon…about 100 babies were executed in their mother’s wombs for convenience.
We haven’t had a budget for 3 years, and we are getting ready to vote to increase our debt ceiling….and we think one of our top issues is advancing the cause of homosexuality and killing babies?!?!?!?!
If not the church…then WHO?
God woke me up on April 23rd at 3:30 a.m. and LOUDLY asked me, ‘WHERE ARE THE MEN?”
“I DON’T KNOW!” WHERE ARE WE MEN?
Be encouraged….God is depending on you to do what He designed you to do….TEND THE GARDEN. But be afraid if we don’t get to our jobs…because God is looking for men to take charge…in prayer…and in words…and in action. Consider this passage…
Ezekiel 21: – 1And the word of the LORD came to me saying, 2“Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and speak against the sanctuaries and prophesy against the land of Israel; 3and say to the land of Israel, ‘Thus says the LORD, “Behold, I am against you; and I will draw My sword out of its sheath and cut off from you the righteous and the wicked. 4“Because I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore My sword will go forth from its sheath against all flesh from south to north. 5“Thus all flesh will know that I, the LORD, have drawn My sword out of its sheath. It will not return to its sheath again.”’ 6“As for you, son of man, groan with breaking heart and bitter grief, groan in their sight. 7“And when they say to you, ‘Why do you groan?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news that is coming; and every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it comes and it will happen,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
Wow….we better get the compass focused where it should be…on God!
Grace and Peace, Dan
