I am on the count down to finishing my 365 days of Encouragement. This is a weekend post, so I am not sure if anybody reads it…but I still am committed to finishing strong. During this year, I have really realized the battle that we are in. I finished a book about a guy named C.T. Studd. He was a famous cricketer in the late 1880’s and gave it all up, including his great wealth to follow God. He died in the jungles of Africa, but was the seed that was planted to evangelize a good portion of the world.
I have realized, and he certainly knew that we were in a battle…listen to this clip with C.T. Studd quotes…
You see this is Super Bowl weekend, and all you see on TV are the folks in New Orleans, and they are eating and drinking like there is no tomorrow. I have been to Bourbon Street many years ago, and I know what that is like.
But what if tomorrow was the day that Jesus returned….would they be ready? Would you?
We are in a battle…a dark and spiritual battle…this is the time for God’s men to rise up and fight, and be fat drunk slobs…listen to this verse.
Isaiah 2: 4-5 – 4He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
5Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord. (NIV)
Be encouraged…you can be ready for the battle. Rise up and get in God’s Word, and get on your knees in prayer, and He will make you ready! Let us walk in the light of the Lord!
Grace and Peace, Dan
